我看到一个人在追逐地平线

一圈又一圈他们飞奔。

我看了很不舒服；

我向那个人打招呼。

“那是徒然的，”我说，

“你绝不可能──”

“你说谎，”他大叫。

继续追他的。

I saw a man pursuing the horizon

round and round they sped.

I was disturbed at this;

I accosted the man.

'It is futile,' I said,

'You can never─'

'You lie,' he cried,

And ran on.

[间析] 克兰喜欢用广阔的空间作为诗的场景,象沙漠以及这里的地平线。在一望无际的空间里,通常只有一个'他'（当然还有诗人自己）。这样读者的眼光及心思便都被集中在'他'身上,没有别的东西来分散注意力。
